Airsoft was invented in Japan in the 1980s as a way for Japanese gun collectors to enjoy their hobby without breaking the law, as civilians cannot possess firearms in Japan. The Mp40 is a gun which was used in World War II. This gun was designed and used in Germany and its name literally means machine pistol 40. This gun is an open bolt blowback automatic model, and although it has full automatic fire the low rate of fire provided for single shots if the trigger was pulled just right.
